Fire Damage in Attic

When a fire starts and it is put out relatively quickly the burned materially are only a small part of the damage. Fires create smoke and soot. This soot is acidic and very small. Left untreated it can discolor walls etch faucets and leave a smell though the structure. If the soot is cleaned improperly it could bind with the material and become a permanent stain.  This structure was affected by the neighboring duplex. and the flames stated to come through the delineating wall in the attic before the fire was extinguished. This left a heavy amount of soot in her attic storage area, and a light coating of soot throughout the structure. Now the soot has been cleaned and the structure deodorized. She is ready for the build back contractors to finish the job.
